According to the survey report of IAMAI and Nielsen, Delhi has secured first position over Maharashtra in Internet Readiness Index.
Last year results shows Delhi not in the list of top 5 states. Karnataka was on 2nd number and in present year able to make its same position. Whereas Maharashtra slipped down to number 3 in Internet Readiness Index.
Last year Kerala was not in the top 5 list and able to make its 4th position in 2017 IRI. Tamil Nadu played safe to stay on 5th position. From Eastern states, Nagaland tops the list following Manipur and Tripura on second and third place.
In Union territories, Delhi tops the list following Chandigarh and Pondicherry.
Survey of Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and market research firm Nielsen, titled “Index of Internet Readiness of Indian States, is on the basis of four ingredients i.e. E-Infrastructure, E-Participation, IT Environment, E-Governance and E-Service index.

Survey report says, Start-ups in Digital market are high in Karnataka, Delhi and Maharashtra.Whereas 61 Start-ups Incubators are only in Tamil Nadu out of 242 Start-up Incubators in the country.
Aruna Sundararajan, secretary of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology said the day will come within 5-6 years when India tops 5th place in connectivity taking a long jump from 155th position. Unconventional and innovative changes in digital market together with rise of entrepreneurs in the business market is assigning enormous change in digital world.India is briskly changing its Telecom industry to digitize world economy. Demonetization has given clear transformation to the digital world as it grace 30 lakh Point of Sale from 1.5 lakh only. It will immensely assist in 3 times growth in infrastructure of digital payment within a calendar year.
In coming years, states to get tickets in the Index, not in roll, will need more investment and development for digital transformation.
